General profile of the graduate

You will gain practical knowledge of management science and quality. You will understand the nature of the systems and process approach to logistics and learn the principles of controlling information flows, financial resources, human and material resources and customer service.

You will have management knowledge of internal transport and handling equipment, transport and logistics infrastructure, integrated transport and logistics systems and external transport. This knowledge is complemented by practical skills in the application of modern management techniques and methods and the use of IT tools.

You will be able to apply the acquired knowledge skilfully to identify, analyse and improve logistics and transport systems and processes. You will be prepared to make independent decisions and to critically evaluate your own actions and those of your organisation. You will have the communication, negotiation and motivational skills necessary to manage the physical flow of goods.

You will also have the ability to take on operational management roles specific to the TSL sector. You will be creative and have a commitment to professional development. You will be adept at managing your time and your human, technical, financial and information resources. You have the ability to think outside the box in managing logistics and transport processes. You will be prepared to work in a culturally and linguistically diverse environment, a quality that employers are increasingly looking for in their staff as a result of globalisation.

You will be proficient in a foreign language at level B2 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and have the ability to use a specialist language in your field of study.

Thanks to your comprehensive training in management and quality sciences, supplemented by knowledge of economics and finance, you will be prepared to run your own business and be employed in small, medium and large transport companies, shipping companies, distribution and logistics centres, business and administrative units where logistical knowledge is required.

Typical jobs of graduates and opportunities for continuing education

The job opportunities for logistics graduates are extremely wide. You will be able to work in any company or institution where there is a need to optimise management (use of resources, their protection and storage). The tasks of a logistician include planning, organising, directing and controlling the movement of specific resources (goods, services, information) from the producer (wholesaler, retailer, service provider) to the customer (entrepreneur, consumer) using market information in order to optimise the benefits of the exchange for all parties involved. The importance of people who are prepared to perform logistics tasks in a market economy is growing immeasurably.

Below is an overview of some of the positions that a logistics graduate can work in:

  • logistics specialist,
  • production organisation and planning specialist,
